Marine Herb Peel Facial at Pamper Valley Spa

Pamper Valley

A gentle Marine Herb Peel facial treatment at Pamper Valley spa in Toronto

The Marine Herb Peel is one of our most popular resurfacing facials at Pamper Valley Spa. Here’s a closer look at what it is, who it suits, and how to care for your skin afterward.

What is a Marine Herb Peel?

At Pamper Valley Spa, our Marine Herb Peel Facial is $189 for 60 minutes. It is a gentle, plant- and seaweed-based resurfacing treatment designed to encourage natural skin renewal and improve the overall appearance and texture of the skin.

Unlike traditional chemical or acid peels, the Marine Herb Peel uses crushed herbs, marine extracts, algae, and natural micro-particles that are massaged into the skin. Ingredients such as marigold, chamomile, and seaweed help exfoliate the surface of the skin while supporting circulation and the skin’s natural renewal process.

The treatment is designed to leave the skin looking refreshed, smoother, and more radiant — without the heavy, tight feeling that some stronger exfoliating treatments can cause.

Why Choose a Marine Herb Peel?

The Marine Herb Peel can be a great option for clients looking to improve the appearance of:

  • Acne scars and post-acne marks
  • Hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone
  • Uneven skin texture and fine lines
  • Enlarged-looking pores
  • Sun damage
  • Dull or rough-looking skin

It simply supports a smoother, more refreshed appearance by encouraging the skin’s natural cell turnover.

A Treatment Customized to Your Skin

At Pamper Valley Spa, we don’t believe that one facial should be exactly the same for everyone. Our experienced estheticians assess your skin type, condition, sensitivity, and individual goals before customizing the treatment.

The Marine Herb Peel can be adjusted depending on what your skin needs — from a milder approach focused on hydration to a deeper clarifying treatment.

For clients who are new to peel treatments or have more sensitive skin, we may adjust the application time or intensity. For others, we may focus more heavily on hydration and soothing recovery care. The treatment concludes with a cooling mask and hydrating serums, helping calm and replenish the skin after exfoliation and leaving it feeling calm, refreshed, and glowing.

This personalized approach allows us to give your skin what it needs rather than simply following a one-size-fits-all treatment.

What to Expect After Your Marine Herb Peel

Every person’s skin responds differently, so your experience may vary.

Some clients experience very little visible peeling, while others may see more noticeable shedding. Mild redness, warmth, tightness, dryness, or a sunburn-like sensation can occur during the first 24 to 72 hours. Peeling or shedding may become more noticeable around day 3 to day 5 as the skin goes through its natural renewal process. This shedding is completely normal and is one of the things you may notice as your skin renews itself.

Can I Wear Makeup After a Marine Herb Peel?

We recommend giving your skin some time to rest following the treatment, particularly if your skin is feeling sensitive, warm, red, or tight.

Mindfully avoid applying makeup immediately after the peel whenever possible. Your skin has just undergone an exfoliating treatment and needs time to settle and recover.

Once your skin has calmed down, you may gradually return to your normal makeup routine. However, during the peeling stage, makeup may feel dry or appear uneven as the skin sheds.

If you do wear makeup during the recovery period:

  • Use clean makeup brushes and applicators.
  • Choose gentle, non-irritating products.
  • Avoid heavy or highly fragranced products if your skin feels sensitive.
  • Remove makeup gently; do not scrub or rub the skin.
  • Avoid picking at areas where makeup may cling to peeling skin.

What Should I Avoid During the Downtime?

The recovery period is an important part of the treatment. Your skin is naturally renewing itself, so being gentle with it can help support a smoother recovery.

During the recovery period, please avoid:

  • Direct and prolonged sun exposure.
  • Tanning beds and intentional tanning.
  • Picking, pulling, rubbing, or manually removing peeling skin.
  • Scrubs, exfoliating brushes, or physical exfoliants.
  • Retinoids and strong exfoliating acids until the skin has recovered.
  • Very hot water, steam rooms, saunas, or anything that may excessively heat or irritate the skin.
  • Waxing or other aggressive hair-removal treatments on the treated area.
  • Other strong active skincare ingredients unless recommended by your esthetician.
  • Other intensive facial or resurfacing treatments until your skin has settled.

Your skin may also be more sensitive to environmental factors during this period, so keeping your routine simple and nourishing is ideal.

Aftercare & Side Effects

During the recovery period, it is important to:

  • Apply a high-mineral SPF every day and reapply as needed.
  • Keep the skin well hydrated and moisturized.
  • Use gentle skincare products.

Mild redness, dryness, tightness, warmth, sensitivity, and peeling can occur as part of the recovery process. The amount of peeling varies from person to person, and more peeling does not necessarily mean a better result.

If you experience significant swelling, blistering, severe or worsening pain, or a reaction that concerns you, discontinue irritating products and seek appropriate professional medical advice.

What to Use At Home?

We recommend using gentle, moisturizing skincare during your recovery period.

At Pamper Valley Spa, we carry several professional skincare options — including PDRN Regen Cream, Orthomin E Liporex, Radioxine, and Dr. CPU Stem Cell Cream — which can be incorporated into your home-care routine depending on your skin’s needs and existing skincare habits.

For daily sun protection, Dr. CPU Bio Sun Milk is another favourite. It has a lightweight, skincare-like feel and leaves little to no white cast, making it easy to wear every day.

When Can I Have Another Facial?

You can still enjoy other facial treatments after a Marine Herb Peel, but timing matters — your skin should have enough time to recover before receiving another exfoliating or intensive treatment. A gentle, deeply hydrating facial may be appropriate once the skin has settled, but our estheticians will assess your skin and recommend the right timing based on how it has recovered.

Avoid scheduling another exfoliating peel, aggressive resurfacing treatment, or intensive facial while your skin is still actively peeling or feeling sensitive.

Short-Term & Long-Term Benefits

Immediately after the treatment, your skin may feel smoother, refreshed, and hydrated.

For clients looking to achieve more noticeable, lasting results, we recommend the Marine Herb Peel Facial once per month for 3 to 5 consecutive months. This allows the skin to get used to a consistent renewal process.
